OUR SOLIDARITY WITH RADIO THE VOICE OF BAGUA
On Wednesday 21 July, our glorious National Association of Journalists of Peru (ANP), the historical guild Peruvian journalism, turns 82 years after its foundation, which also are 82 years of unwavering fight to defend freedom of expression and dignity of the journalist.
Recalling this anniversary, the ANP Subsidiary Utcubamba sends his cordial and fraternal greetings to our President Roberto Mejía Alarcón, each member of the National Executive Committee, provincial subsidiaries and fellow journalists in Peru . That date is conducive to reaffirm our faith in the future of the country and the glory of our guild.
also reiterate our strongest protest against the abuses of some media that the current government has committed, especially against Radio La Voz, our local station that has closed more than a year, although the President Alan Garcia promised two months ago to review his case. The national and international impact of the closure of Radio Voice is an example of how journalists should react to any violation of their right to free expression. However, we believe we need stronger action of our guild, the PA, despite how much he has already done, to end the drama of Radio La Voz, which not only deprived a people the right to be informed, but also a family of their right to work. In this regard, the ANP-Utcubamba subsidiary, claims of the provincial and each of the thousands of affiliated real solidarity, not just poetry for Radio La Voz, whose reporters are going through a very difficult time.
